| Travel expenses(additional for all home medical students) |
From England, Wales or Northern Ireland
- If you have to attend for training at a place in the UK, other than your normal place of attendance, you may get an income-assessed non-repayable grant towards ‘reasonable’ costs of travel to and from that place less the first £303 (£309 in Northern Ireland) in 2010/11.
- Claim through your student award making organisation.
From Scotland
- If you are from Scotland and you are doing clinical training or electives within the UK you may claim the full cost of any ‘reasonable’ travelling expenses.
- SAAS may pay more than the amount they would normally pay (see Travel Expenses (Scottish domiciled students only))
- If you do your clinical training or elective abroad SAAS will pay travelling expenses from your home to the point of UK departure.
- This non-repayable grant is income-assessed.
- The closing date for claims is 31 July 2010 in session 2009/10 and 31 July 2011 in session 2010/11.
