Travel expenses(additional for all home medical students)

From England, Wales or Northern Ireland

If you have to attend for training at a place in the UK, other than your normal place of attendance, you may get an income-assessed non-repayable grant towards ‘reasonable’ costs of travel to and from that place less the first £303 (£309 in Northern Ireland) in 2010/11.
Claim through your student award making organisation.

From Scotland

If you are from Scotland and you are doing clinical training or electives within the UK you may claim the full cost of any ‘reasonable’ travelling expenses.
SAAS may pay more than the amount they would normally pay (see Travel Expenses (Scottish domiciled students only))
If you do your clinical training or elective abroad SAAS will pay travelling expenses from your home to the point of UK departure.
This non-repayable grant is income-assessed.
The closing date for claims is 31 July 2010 in session 2009/10 and 31 July 2011 in session 2010/11.
