- NHS Student Grants Unit administers the NHS Bursary Scheme in England.
- The Unit is part of the NHS Business Services Authority.
- Covers payment for tuition fees and living costs for medical students whose home is in England from fifth year onwards regardless of where the medical school in which they study is located.
- Covers payment for tuition fees and living costs for medical students whose home is in England from second year of accelerated degree courses.
- Covers payment of tuition fees only for EU students studying in England from the fifth year on or from second year of accelerated degree courses.
