Carnegie Trust (Scotland)
The Carnegie Trust
May be able to help you if:
- You were born in Scotland
- OR have a parent born in Scotland
- OR studied in a Scottish secondary school for at least three years
- AND are studying a first degree at a Scottish institution.
The Trust offers fee assistance for undergraduates not receiving help from SAAS. Help is only given to those studying first degrees and prioritises younger students. Applicants must show that without a fee grant they will face financial hardship but that with one they have the financial means to complete the course.
Apply between 1st April and 1st October for help with the next academic year's tuition fees. Students must have confirmation of their place at University.
Write for an application form to:
The Secretary, The Carnegie Trust, Andrew Carnegie House, Pittencrieff Street, Dunfermline, Fife, KY12 8AW (Tel 01383 724990) or download one from the website on the related link.
The Trust also offers other grants related to education in Scotland such as vacation expedition scholarships for research in the summer holidays and scholarships for postgraduate research for graduates of Scottish Universities. See the website for more details.
