2010/11 site update

The change of Government will not effect the student funding arrangements already announced for 2010/11.

We’ve updated the site to include the latest information on student funding for the 2010/11 academic year. This includes information on:

Changes to student financial support in Wales for new students in 2010/11.
Information about debt relief of up to £1,500 for students in Wales receiving a student loan for maintenance in 2010/11 when repayment starts.
Introduction of an Independent Students' Bursary for students in Scotland.
Deadlines for applying for student support in 2010/11.
More has been added to the section on information about funding from 2010 onwards. They may be very significant changes to be announced in the future now that a new Government is in place.

We’ve added 2010/11 information to both the ‘Needing Money’ section and the A- Z Index and Glossary.

Information on welfare benefits, tax credits and income tax has also been updated for the 2010/11 tax year.
