Answering a Wide Range of Queries
So far English, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Irish, European and international students have all contacted the Independent Money Adviser with questions ranging from wanting their eligibility for NHS or DfES funding to be assessed to wanting to know how to fund intercalated years and electives to needing a way out of increasing debt and financial hardship. Information and advice has also been requested on doctors’ salaries, bank loans, funding from charitable trusts, essay writing for scholarships and hardship funds.
Our Independent Money Adviser
"Some enquiries require only a single response sometimes in answer to a clear yes or no question," explains our Independent Money Adviser. "Others require more in depth advice and guidance. It may be appropriate to refer you to your local advice centre if you wish but full advice can usually also be given online. As a trained debt advisor I can go through the process of debt management with you guiding you through each stage and if necessary negotiating on your behalf."
The Independent Money Advice service is provided for www.money4medstudents.org by Leeds University Student Union Advice Centre, which has appointed a specialist Money Adviser specifically to work with medical students, as part of their Student Advice Team.
