If you are not sure what you may be entitled to, or how to go about claiming, you should be able to get further help from:-
•your University’s Student Advice Services, which may be based either in the University or the Students’ Union. •the International Student Adviser at your University if you are an international student. •a Citizens’ Advice Bureau. •Welfare Rights Offices run by local authorities. You can find out if there is an office near you by looking on the website of your local Council.

•Child Poverty Action Group (CPAG) brings out two books each year. These books have detailed explanations about how your student income is calculated for means-tested benefits:-
Student Support and Benefits Handbook – England, Wales and Northern Ireland Benefits for Students in Scotland Handbook. This book is available on line. You can buy hard copies through the CPAG website.
