Government Funding

If you are doing a five year degree and live in England, Scotland or Wales you should receive:

• A maintenance loan from the government for the first four years of your degree
• A means tested bursary from the NHS plus a reduced rate student loan from the government from the fifth year onwards
• Your full fee costs covered by the NHS from the fifth year onwards

In the first four years you'll have to pay the fees yourself. If studying in Scotland and funded by SAAS, you will receive £1,570 towards your fees each year. But this fee concession may not apply if your 1st degree and/or postgraduate qualification clearly qualifies you for a profession.

If you are doing a five year degree and live in Northern Ireland you should receive:

• A maintenance loan every year from the ELB

You'll have to pay all the fees yourself.

If you are doing the accelerated four year course and live in England or Wales you should receive:

• A maintenance loan from the government for the first year of your degree
• A means tested bursary from the NHS plus a reduced rate student loan from the government from the second year onwards
• Your full fee costs covered by the NHS from the second year onwards

In the first year you'll have to pay the fees yourself.

If you are doing the accelerated four year course and live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you will receive:

• A maintenance loan each year

You will have to pay all the fees yourself.
