Pharmaceutical and Corporate Funding
- Drug companies receive many requests for elective funding and normally require applicants to write essays to be considered
- Medical equipment companies may consider sponsoring you if you can relate how your elective is relevant to their product and remember to send them a copy of your elective report
- When thinking of approaching companies be creative – ‘corporate social responsibility’ is a current buzz-phrase so try approaching non-medical companies too
- Even if companies will not give you financial help, they may donate free products which you can use and distribute during your elective e.g. medical equipment, medication, tampons / sanitary towels, nappies, water sterilising tablets / equipment, condoms or mosquito nets.
