Preference to women seeking to retrain after years in the home or to enter a field where prospects of employment and advancement are greater. Grants / loans of up to £500 to women in UK or Ireland who wish to further their career prospects or retrain after bringing up a family. Apply on application form by 31^st March each year

The Elizabeth Nuffield Educational Fund

Grants towards childcare to women aged under 50 studying for a 1^st higher education qualification to improve career prospects. Students who receive DfES or NHS Childcare grants are not eligible. See website for other conditions and application form
