Am I getting the full award I'm entitled to?
Is my award notice correct?
Always check your student award notice when you receive it to make sure it's correct:
- Is it what you expected given your household’s income details? Use the calculators on the student finance websites. Ask your parent/s to check it for you if you don't know their income.
- If you have a sibling/s in higher education has this been taken into account in the assessment?
- Have you been given extra weeks living costs in student loan/grants etc as appropriate for the length of your year?
- Have you been given the appropriate rate of loan? There are different rates if you live at home, away from home or study in London.
- Have you received all the grants /allowances you claimed?
- Have you actually claimed all you're entitled to?
- Don't forget to claim travelling and placement expenses if these arise during the course of the year.
